ArmoryVault does not collect, store, transmit, monetize, or share your personal information, firearm serial numbers, purchase histories, photos, or location telemetry. Everything stays stored on your own physical hardware under AES-256 encryption.
1. Data Storage & Encryption
All inventory records, optics configurations, maintenance schedules, reloading components, tax stamps, and ATF bound book entries are stored locally on your device. On desktop, records are encrypted using AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption with keys derived via PBKDF2 with 100,000 rounds. No remote database or cloud server exists.
2. Local Wi-Fi Companion Sync
The mobile companion app communicates with your desktop application strictly over your local Wi-Fi network (LAN) via direct HTTP/WebSocket connection. Communication occurs solely between your mobile phone and your personal computer:
- Zero intermediary relay servers are used.
- Sync payloads require manual authentication and authorization pairing via dynamic QR code scanning.
- No data leaves your home or local area network.
3. Mobile Camera & Storage Permissions
The mobile application requests access to your device camera exclusively for scanning container QR codes, equipment barcodes, and pairing keys. Photos captured for firearm identification remain strictly stored in local device sandboxes and are never uploaded anywhere.
4. Analytics and Third-Party Trackers
Neither ArmoryVault Desktop nor ArmoryVault Companion App incorporates third-party trackers, advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob or Meta Audience Network), or external telemetry frameworks. Crash logs are kept locally on your filesystem.
5. Modular Extensions & GitHub Downloads
When checking for or installing modular extensions (such as Reloading Workbench or Ballistics Calculator), the desktop app queries public GitHub release assets (cook0001/ArmoryVault-Modules) to fetch package zip archives. No telemetry or identification is sent to GitHub other than standard HTTP client headers required to retrieve public release files.
6. Data Retention & Portability
You retain 100% ownership of all your data. You may create complete encrypted zip backups at any time, export unencrypted CSV tables for external review, or permanently purge your local database with one click.
